Kent Hanson is enthusiastic about sustainable finance, combining a rigorous academic background with hands-on experience in private equity, sustainable investing, and M&A. Currently pursuing an M.S. in Sustainability Management with a Certificate in Sustainable Finance from Columbia University, Kent brings a fresh perspective on financing the transition to a greener economy.

With experience at Morgan Stanley as a Sustainable Investing Summer Associate, Kent has helped shape investment strategies for private credit and equity funds. His work in advancing climate and sustainability initiatives included developing sector-specific investment theses, conducting market analyses, and quantifying the financial impact of sustainability practices. Before his time at Morgan Stanley, Kent worked as an Investment Banking M&A Analyst at Lakeside Partners.

Kent’s journey into finance is as unique as his career trajectory. Before pivoting to sustainable finance, he played professional basketball internationally in France, Portugal, Canada, Iceland, and Kazakhstan. This diverse experience has honed his resilience, teamwork, and strategic thinking—skills that translate seamlessly into his work at Accrona.
